Chelsea dropped to 10/3 for FA Cup glory
Tagged under: FA Cup
Chelsea have been cut from 4/1 to 10/3 favourites to win this season’s FA Cup after Manchester United were dumped out of the competition by League One side Leeds. Leeds sprung the shock of the round yesterday in the War of the Roses clash, with a Jermaine Beckford goal handing them their first win at Old Trafford since 1981 and knocking the champions out of the third round of the FA Cup for the first time since Sir Alex Ferguson was appointed manager in 1986. That meant that Chelsea, who thumped Watford 5-0 in their third round tie, were reinforced as favourites with BlueSQ cutting them to a best price of 10/3. Arsenal, who came from behind to beat West Ham at Upton Park, are second favourites after being cut from 9/1 to 6/1 from whilst Liverpool, who have still got to negotiate a replay against Reading, are third favourites at 13/2. Man City have also dropped from 9/1 after beating Middlesbrough and stand at 7/1 along with Tottenham, who will face Leeds United in the fourth round following their 4-0 win over Peterborough. Newcastle are the highest rated team from outside the Premiership, available at 100/1. Leeds, who were 500/1 ahead of their tie with Man Utd, have also been dropped to 100/1 by Coral although the majority of bookies have them at a more generous 200/1. Skybet have put Simon Grayson’s men at 5/2 to be the furthest progressing League One team in this season’s competition behind Southampton at 7/4, who will play Ipswich at home in round four.
