Jets still outsiders despite shocking Chargers

Tagged under: American Football

The New York Jets stunned the San Diego Chargers last night in the NFL play-offs but are still rank outsiders to enjoy Super Bowl success, priced at 8/1 with Bet365. The Jets, rank outsiders at the start of the season, sprung the surprise of the season as they held on for a 17-14 win over the Chargers in San Diego to book a place in the AFC Championship game. But despite the shock, Rex Ryan's men face a monumental task to make their way to the Super Bowl in Miami as they travel to the Lucas Oil Field to take on 13/10 favourites Indianapolis Colts next week. The Colts eased passed Baltimore with a 20-3 win at home and are 1/4 in the early prices to beat the Jets in Saturday’s AFC decider. In the NFC, the New Orleans Saints are 9/4 second favourites to be crowned champions in Miami but have a much tougher test to overcome if they are going to get there after thumping Arizona 45-14 at the Superdome. The free-scoring Saints face a Minnesota Vikings side that looked inspired by legendary quarter-back Brett Favre, as he threw for four touchdowns from just 24 attempts to lead the Vikings to a 34-3 win over Dallas Cowboys. Early betting has the Vikings (9/2 to win the Super Bowl) at 13/8 to beat the Saints in New Orleans with the home side favoured at 1/2.
