Big Hitters Missing at Bet Internet Leads To Sharp Fall In Turnover

Webis Holdings PLC the Company that owns BetInternet blamed the 33% fall in turnover on a lack of high roller activity in the firms online casino . Betinternet historically has relied heavily on a large client base in South East Asia . However the interim results also showed a big increase in turnover from the UK and Ireland with business from this region jumping 60% in the period . BetInternet has focused more on UK in particular over the last 18months introducing betting on horse racing and sponsoring many high profile races . Webis was able to report improved performance from it's other betting division . EWS which operates pari mutuel betting principally from US racetracks recorded a 22% increase in turnover and a 97% increase in profitability in the period . Shares in Webis Holdings PLC listed on the London Stock Exchange fell to 1.75p after the announcement
