Solwhit On Course For Champion Hurdle Leading champion hurdle fancy Solwhit has been confirmed on course for Tuesday's feature event after a scope on Saturday morning proved satisfactory. The doubts surrounding Solwhit's participation in this year's Champion Hurdle were put to rest when connections announced that the horse will run in the championship event next Tuesday. With last year's third Binocular also confirmed a definate runner, the race now has a wide open look about it. In a statement this morning trainer Charles Byrnes said " Solwhit scoped clean this morning so he will travel over tonight but obviously we will be monitoring him closely". Byrnes went on to add " the intention is to run and as long as he's 100% he will". The positive news has seen the 6 year old contract in the betting and is now a best price 6/1 with Bet365, Skybet and William Hill, whereas favourite Go Native can now be backed at a stand out 4/1 with Sportingbet. Binocular, laid at 1000 on Betfair, is now a top priced 8/1 with several firms including the " big three". Today's feature event the Paddy Power Imperial Cup was won by the 11/4 favourite Qaspal, who is now on course for the sponsor's £75000 bonus, if successful at next weeks Cheltenham Festival. A 5lb penalty for the Fred Winter Conditionals Handicap Hurdle may be enough to make the cut for the race. The gelding is as short as 5/2 with the sponsors' for the race next Friday.
