Following last night's second live televised debate between the Party leaders the odds on success for the Liberal Democrats continue to fall . Most opinion polls had Nick Clegg as a narrow winner of the live debate and with only two weeks to go until polling day it seems inevitable that this will be the tightest election in recent history with all three main parties seemingly having a chance of securing most seats on May 6th . William Hill now offer the best price on the Conservative Party gaining the highest number of seats at a standout 2/7 whilst they quote the Liberal Democrats at only 9/1 . An understanding of the magnitude of this Liberal Democrat surge can be taken from the fact that only a few months ago the Liberal Democrats could have been backed on Betfair at over 900/1 to have the most seats following this election ! . With the most important live debate still to come on BBC next week , punters may well be cautious but the prospect of a hung or "balanced" Parliament is now very much odds on favourite with all bookmakers and it will now take a substantial swing back to the Conservative party to remove this as by far the most likely scenario
