Glorious Goodwood Friday Preview
Tagged under: Glorious Goodwood
Glorious Goodwood has been lit up by some eye-catching performances from the likes of Canford Cliffs in the Sussex Stakes and Lord Shanakill in the betfair Cup. But now all eyes turn to the race of Day Four of the festival - the Totesport Mile. With a field of up to 20 runners, picking the winner is no easy task, but the odds reflect that.
Early favourite Sea Lord is still priced at 6/1 with Paddy Power and looks the horse with the form and pedigree to cause the others problems. Since stablemate St Moritz was withdrawn from the handicap, the Johnston-trained Sea Lord certainly looks the horse to beat. Having won four of its six run-outs this season, the three-year-old has shown the class to warrant the favourite’s tag.
Invisible Man - with Frankie Dettori in the saddle - looks a fair bet at 8/1 with William Hill. The Godolphin-owned four-year-old impressed in June, staying on well to muster victory over a large field at Ascot, including Acrostic who managed only eighth. Top-weighted here at Goodwood, even at odds of 14/1 (Ladbrokes) and with Kieren Fallon on board, Acrostic should be given a wide berth.
Looking for each-way value - paid at 1/4 odds for a top-four finish - you could do worse than take the generous 33/1 on offer at Boylesports for Mahadee. The five-year-old has won on its last two outings and has been given a decent 9-0 handicap, so could well do enough to snatch a place.
As always check out the free bet offers and bonuses in our Betting Offers section. Then sit back and watch what could prove a very exciting race - especially if you’ve backed Mahadee and it romps home at 33s!
