NFL: Baltimore Ravens @ Atlanta Falcons Preview and Team News
Tagged under: American Football
Great game for Sky Sports this Thursday as two real Superbowl contenders face off in Atlanta. Both teams come into this game having won six and only lost two games but The Falcons have not lost at home and the Ravens have lost their two games on the road. The Ravens come into this game having given a good Miami team a bit of a beating on Sunday and will be full of confidence and fairly fresh with no real injury concerns. They held the Miami running game to under 85 yards sunday and that was the third time in five games they have stopped the running game of the opposition which bodes well in this game as Atlanta have a big running threat in Michael Turner. Quarterback Joe Flacco is hitting form and with running back Ray Rice going for over 160 combined yards he will take the pressure off Flacco. The Ravens also only concede an average of a stingy 205 passing yards allowed per game and will be tough to beat. They are available to bet at EVENS with Ladbrokes if you like them. The Falcons have great claims for this game despite the Ravens' strong defence. The Falcons average over 30 points per game at home and will look to keep that trend going tonight. Michael Turner has rushed for over 100 yards in his previous two games so it will be a real battle to see who gets dominance in that key battle between the Ravens defence and Turner. Atlanta do have an edge in the passing game with Matt Ryan at the helm. Between their star receiver Roddy White and tight end Tony Gonzalez they have some great weapons at their disposal and if the Ravens have a slight weakness it's their cornerbacks. An expansive passing game could be the key to the Falcons winning this game. This game really is a clash between the irresistable force and the immovable object. The Falcons have only been held to under 16 points once this year and the Ravens have limited six of their eight opponents to under 17! If you fancy the Falcons to edge this game Betfred offer the best odds at 20/23. This really should be a classic and I would lean towards the Ravens to snatch it with a strong defensive showing. They seem to be hitting their stride now.
