Betfair Renew Sponsorship of Betfair Lancashire Chase

Betfair the UK listed betting exchange have agreed a new 3 year deal to maintain their sponsorship of the Betfair Chase at Haydock Park racecourse . The race was originally known as the Lancashire Chase and is a Grade 1 event over 3 miles and ran every November . Betfair have sponsored the race now since 2005 when the race was the first leg of the "Betfair Million " .

The new three-year agreement guarantees a minimum of UK£200,000 in prize money per year and Betfair's title sponsorship of the race is believed to be of a similar value.
The ever popular Kauto Star has won the Betfair Chase three times in 2006 , 2007 and 2009 and current Cheltenham Gold Cup favourite Imperial Commander won the last running this season .

Tony Calvin, Betfair's head of media, said, "We are delighted to support the Betfair Chase again for the next three years. It has quickly established itself as the starting point of the season for the best staying chasers."
