British number one, Andy Murray beat Rafeal Nadal in three sets to win the Japan Open Tennis final in Toyko on Sunday. Murray put up a blistering performance in the final two sets against the defending champion to emerge a convincing 3-6, 6-2, 6-0 winner on the second leg of his Far East tour.

Victory over world number two Nadal was Murray’s 21^st in 22 matches which began when winning the Western and Southern Open in Cincinnati in August. Once again Nadal should prove the biggest obstacle in Murray’s path as world number one Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer have chosen to omit the Far East tournaments from their tour schedules. Nadal remains hungry for silverware, having collected three titles this season he is bidding to end a relatively lean spell by capturing his first title since the French Open in May at the Shanghai Rolex Masters. Nadal lost to Nikolay Davydenko in the 2009 final and is available at odds of 2/1 with Stan James in his bid to win his first Shangai Rolex Masters title.

Tomas Berdych ended his title drought in Beijing on Sunday when defeating Marin Cilic 3-6, 6-4, 6-1 in the final of the China Open. It was Berdych’s first ATP tour title since May 2009 when he won the BMW Open and boosts his chances of qualifying for the end of season finale at the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals in London at the end of November. Berdych will be looking to rack up more ranking points at the Shanghai Rolex Masters and is available at odds of 14/1 with Boylesports to capture another title on Sunday.
