"I would love to have the chance to win here; it's a tournament that I've wanted to win for the past number of years and haven't quite been able to do it," he added.

McIlroy leads the field at the Hong Kong Open with two Englishman, Justin Rose and Ian Poulter. BMW Championship winner Justin Rose is making his debut at Fanling after another fine season on the US PGA Tour and is looking for his first European tour win since the Volvo Masters in 2007. Rose is 12/1 second favourite to win the Hong Kong Open at Coral.

Coral also match the best price at 14/1 for Poulter who is defending the title he won by one shot from Matteo Manassero and compatriot Simon Dyson in 2010. Poulter won the Volvo World Matchplay in May and is hoping to prepare for Dubai by winning with his twelfth European Tour title.

Three-time Major champion Padraig Harrington is in the field, the Irishman is a previous winner of the Hong Kong Open and needs a top six finish to book his ticket for Dubai. Harrington is widely available at odds of 22/1, including Sky Bet who will give a completely free £10 bet to new customers.
