Rangers were later reduced to nine men when Dorin Goian picked up a second yellow card and the Scottish Champions ended the afternoon with a miserable 2-1 defeat. Meanwhile Georgios Samaras was back among the goals with a brace to give Celtic a 2-1 win at home to Kilmarnock and reduce the gap with their arch-rivals to a single point.
