Ally McCoist may be set to leave Rangers with bookmakers reporting a flood of money for McCoist to be the next Scottish manager to leave his job.
Leading Irish bookmaker Paddy Power have suspended betting on the Scottish Premier League sack race after being forced to cut the odds on McCoist leaving from 5/1 to 7/4 yesterday.
Paddy Power offer a £20 free bet to all new online accounts for just £10.
Rangers star striker Nikica Jelavic was sold to Everton on transfer deadline day yesterday and was not replaced whilst Kyle Hutton, Jordan McMillan, John Fleck, David Weir, Juanma Ortiz and Thomas Bendiksen also headed for the Ibrox exit door on loan deals or permanent moves during the course of January. Rangers are known to be suffering extreme financial problems currently and trail rivals Celtic by one point in the Scottish Premier League.
Independent Scottish bookmaker Mcbookie were offering odds on whether McCoist would leave Rangers during 2012 but have also suspended betting. McBookie spokesman Paul Petrie said: " In our 2012 specials we were betting on whether Ally McCoist would leave Rangers during the forthcoming year and punters were snapping it up all day yesterday as it became clear that none of the Jelavic money was going to be spent.
McBookie offer a Free £10 bet to all Scottish punters , who have a Scottish address.
Other leading Scottish independent bookmaker Scotbet were also not offering any odds on their website today for McCoist to stay or leave his managers job at Rangers.
Meanwhile, Stan James bookmakers currently have a market on the next Rangers manager and make Ian Durrant and Billy Davies their 6/1 joint favourites in a very open looking betting market.
