    Match Preview

USA play Germany in Group G at Arena Pernambuca in Recife and 1990 World Cup winner Jurgen Klinsmann will have to put his allegiances to one side as he sends out the Stars and Stripes to get three points against his home nation.

Germany's form in qualification for the 2014 World Cup makes them heavy favourites to win this match, but they won't be taking United States lightly after losing 4-3 to them in a friendly match last summer. USA have won three of nine meetings between the nations, while Germany have been successful on six occasions and there have been no draws. Germany have come out on top in the two previous World Cup clashes between these sides, but USA have triumphed in a competitive fixture at the 1999 Confederations Cup and can play without pressure as the underdogs in this game.

A likely candidate for penalty duties and a knack for opening the scoring makes Clint Dempsey a leading choice for goalscorer bets from USA, while Landon Donovan could also be considered along with Jozy Altidore. For Germany Marco Reus looks to be a leading candidate on his record in qualification for Brazil 2014, but Mesut Ozil can't be overlooked if retaining spot-kick responsibilities and could be available at more enticing odds.
