A consistent performer for Everton, Kevin Mirallas will join an exciting Belgian World Cup 2014 line-up that could be potential dark horses for the tournament. Winger Mirallas will be joined by his now decisive Everton strike partner, Romelu Lukaku in the trip to Brazil this summer, and his own goalscoring prowess displayed in the previous two years make his longer betting odds very profitable in individual goalscorer markets within the strong team.
Mirallas played for his home town club, Standard Liège, during his youth career, leaving Belgium subsequently in 2004 to begin his professional career with French club, Lille OSC.
Participating in the UEFA Cup also, Mirallas stayed loyal to the club for four seasons and scored 10 times in his 76 showings before a €4 million transfer to AS Saint-Etienne in 2008, instantly making a name for himself by netting on his debut during the Rhone-Loire derby against Lyon.
Greek club Olympiacos was his next destination on a one-year loan for €2.5m, extended as he spent two seasons at the club and a total of 52 games. Mirallas impressed and was potent in front of goal for the side, scoring famously in a 2–1 loss to main Olympiacos rivals, Panathinaikos, Olympiacos winning the 2010/11 Greek Super League with Mirallas finishing as the club's top scorer with 14 goals.
That tally extended to 34 goals as the title again went to his club, including a maiden hat-trick against Levadiakos F.C before Everton came knocking and brought the winger to the Merseyside Premier League squad for £6m.
Mirallas scored twice and provided two assists against Leyton Orient in a maiden start during the League Cup, while the Belgian also scored and assisted a goal during a 3–3 draw in the first Merseyside derby of the 2013/14 season. Mirallas scored eight times to add up to 17 in 70 matches for Everton heading to the 2014 World Cup after two seasons in the English league.
A prominent goalscorer for Belgian's youth squads since 2003, Mirallas made his first senior international debut in 2007 and scored his first ever goal against Serbia in Brussels. 44 appearances later, nine goals are now to his name heading into Brazil's 2014 World Cup visit, including two during 10 qualification matches.
Kevin Mirallas World Cup betting tips
A versatile player, the winger can adapt into an attacking role quite often which has seen him a consistent threat for goals. While Lukaku will be the main Belgian threat for team-mates such as Mirallas to assist, the latter can easily profit punters in individual goalscorer markets thanks to the longer player betting odds he will carry, made more appealing by the side's beatable Group H opposition.
