Algeria will arrive at the 2014 World Cup trying to qualify out of the group at a World Cup for the first time in four attempts. However, there's a certain inevitability that they will be eliminated in the Group Stage once more in Brazil.
Facing off against Belgium, South Korea and Russia - who will all be confident of reaching the Second Round - it will surely be a tough ask for Algeria not to finish bottom of the group in Group H.
HOW ALGERIA GOT TO THE 2014 WORLD CUP
Entering CAF Qualifying in the Second Round, Algeria topped Group H with 15 points from their six games.
Meeting Burkina Faso in the Third Round, Algeria's hopes of qualifying were on a knife-edge - following a 3-2 first leg loss. However, a 1-0 win in the return leg was enough to see them progress into the 2014 World Cup on away goals.
ALGERIA MANAGER AND TRACK RECORD
Having played in the 1982 World Cup for Yugoslavia, Algeria boss Vahid Halilhodzic finally gets a chance to manage in the tournament - after being fired by the Ivory Coast four months before the 2010 World Cup.
Despite only qualifying for three previous World Cups, Algeria are making back-to-back World Cup appearances for the second time in their history in Brazil - after going out in the Group Stage of the 1982, 1986 and 2010 competitions.
ALGERIA KEY PLAYER
Former French under-21 Sofiane Feghouli opted to represent Algeria over his birth country in 2011, providing an instant impact to his new side - as he scored the winner on debut during Algeria's 2-1 African Cup of Nations Qualifying win over Gambia.
Undoubtedly the most threatening element of Algeria's attacking line-up, the Valencia midfielder already has five International goals in just 17 appearances.
The 24-year-old - whose versatility means he can play on the right or as an attacking midfielder just behind the forward - has a very high work-rate, which will only help Algeria when they come up against strong opposition in Brazil.
ALGERIA 2014 WORLD CUP BETTING TIP
Despite currently having a higher FIFA Ranking than South Korea, Algeria seem destined to come off second-best in each of their three Group H games.
While the 2014 World Cup betting markets have them as near-certainties to be eliminated in the Group Stage this summer, back Algeria to finish bottom of Group H to increase your odds selection.
