Despite having to deal with the pressures of being the 2014 World Cup host nation, many pundits and bookmakers are tipping Brazil to lift the trophy for an unprecedented sixth time in Rio de Janeiro on July 13.
With betting odds of around 3/1 for them to triumph in this World Cup, Brazil are heavy favourites to better their last attempt at glory on home soil - when finishing as runners-up to Uruguay back in 1950.
HOW THEY QUALIFIED
Due to winning the right to host this tournament from FIFA seven years earlier, Brazil qualified for the 2014 World Cup automatically.
As the now traditional warm-up to the World Cup tournament, Brazil also hosted last year's Confederations Cup and prevailed with ease - after seeing off current World Cup holders Spain 3-0 in the final.
BRAZIL MANAGER AND TRACK RECORD
Brazil manager Luiz Felipe Scolari has a fairly impressive World Cup record. He won the 2002 tournament with Brazil, before leading Portugal to their best ever finish of fourth place four years later.
Scolari returned to the Brazilian dugout in November 2012 and oversaw their Confederations Cup win eight months later.
BRAZIL KEY PLAYER
Just how well Brazil get on this summer will depend on the form of star forward Neymar, who currently plys his trade at Barcelona. Neymar has 27 goals in 46 appearances for the national side and is sure to add more to both tallys once the tournament begins.
Neymar was handed the iconic number 10 jersey by Scolari for the 2013 Confederations Cup and duly repaid the faith shown by his manager - as he claimed the Golden Ball award and scored four goals to help Brazil cruise to victory.
Although this is only his first season with Barcelona - following a move from native Brazilian side Santos last summer - Neymar has still made his mark for them, getting in amongst the goals when called upon to do so by the La Liga champions.
BRAZIL 2014 WORLD CUP BETTING TIPS
With a keen eye for goal and an ability to step up and deliver on the main stage, Neymar has every chance of walking away with the Golden Boot award and most of the leading bookmakers agree - as Neymar is among the front runners to be the tournament's Top Goalscorer, with current best odds of 14/1 available.
