Chile have a genuine chance of upsetting some of the big sides at the 2014 World Cup. Playing in their home continent, they will be better suited to the conditions than the two World Cup 2010 finalists in their group.
For that reason, they could easily qualify out of the group at the expense of a developing Netherlands side and reach the Second Round, matching their last two World Cup appearances.
HOW CHILE GOT TO THE 2014 WORLD CUP
Chile assured themselves of a spot in the 2014 World Cup by finishing third in the CONMEBOL qualifying section.
With the top four South American sides automatically joining host nation Brazil at the tournament, Chile ended their campaign three points ahead of Ecuador and Uruguay in fourth and fifth respectively.
CHILE MANAGER AND TRACK RECORD
Manager Jorge Sampaoli will lead Chile into the 2014 World Cup - after their resurgence following his December 2012 appointment led to them qualifying for back-to-back World Cup tournaments for the first time since 1966.
Chile's best performance at a World Cup came back in 1962, when they finished Third in the tournament that they hosted. There last two appearances - in 1998 and 2010 - have seen them reach the Second Round and they will be hoping for similar again.
CHILE KEY PLAYER
Arturo Vidal is arguably one of football's most complete all-round midfielders.
His exquisite passing is matched by his tackling, work-rate and an exceptional ability to read the game, which has led to him making 52 appearances for his country.
Having also added regular goals to his game at Juventus this season - on top of his five goals in qualifying - Chile will hope Vidal brings his A-game to Brazil this summer.
CHILE 2014 WORLD CUP BETTING TIP
After giving a good account of themselves in South Africa four years ago, Chile were unlucky to come up against a strong Brazil side in the last 16.
Should they finish as runners-up when qualifying out of the group in Brazil, they'll most likely face a repeat of that fixture. Therefore, back Chile to be eliminated in the Second Round of the 2014 World Cup.
