Ecuador have a tough ask to qualify out of the group ahead of France and Switzerland and match their best World Cup performance of 2006, where they reached the Second Round.
With the 2014 World Cup betting markets tipping them to be eliminated in the Group Stage, Ecuador will most likely be left to fight it out with Honduras over who will finish bottom of Group E.
HOW ECUADOR GOT TO THE 2014 WORLD CUP
It was touch and go for Ecuador, who had to wait until the last round of CONMEBOL Qualifying matches to sew up their 2014 World Cup place.
Despite losing to Chile and seeing Uruguay overcome Argentina in the final round of fixtures, Ecuador finished fourth on goal difference - allowing them to claim the final automatic qualification spot ahead of Uruguay.
ECUADOR MANAGER AND TRACK RECORD
Manager Reinaldo Rueda failed to qualify for the 2006 World Cup with Columbia, before he took Ecuador's Group E opponents Honduras to South Africa four years later.
He will lead Ecuador into their third World Cup tournament - following 2002's Group Stage exit and a loss to England in the Second Round in 2006.
ECUADOR KEY PLAYER
Ecuador captain Antonio Valencia will need to set an example for his team mates to follow, if he's to inspire them to do well in Brazil.
With 69 caps and eight goals for his country, the Manchester United winger is extremely talented and can pose all sorts of problems for opposition full-backs when playing at his best.
However, the 28-year-old is often a source of frustration - as he struggles with consistancy. If Ecuador are to acheive anything at the 2014 World Cup then they really need Valencia to deliver his best every game.
ECUADOR 2014 WORLD CUP BETTING TIP
Ecuador won 24 of their 27 qualification points at home - owing to playing at high altitude. With that advantage no longer available to them in Brazil expect them to struggle in the 2014 World Cup.
Drawn against France and Switzerland, Ecuador are not expected to progress out of the group. However, they should at least better Honduras, so back them to finish third in Group E.
