Having never managed to qualify out of the group in their previous two World Cup appearances, Greece will hope it is third time lucky and that they can reach the Second Round for the first time.
Marking 10 years since their Euro 2004 success, Greece will want to upset the 2014 World Cup betting markets again by winning the tournament. That would require them to avoid making it a hat-trick of Group Stage exits though.
HOW GREECE GOT TO THE 2014 WORLD CUP
Greece lost out on top spot of UEFA Group G to Bosnia and Herzegovina on goal difference, forcing them into a Playoff with Romania.
It was hard lines for a Greek side who had not conceded at home and had also kept three clean sheets away.
Greece registered a 3-1 home win over the Group D runners-up in the first leg of the Playoffs, before a 1-1 draw in Romania finally assured them a place in the 2014 World Cup.
GREECE MANAGER AND TRACK RECORD
Appointed in July 2010, Fernando Santos will lead Greece into a major tournament for the second time - after masterminding their run to the Euro 2012 quarter-finals.
The Euro 2004 winners have not been able to replicate their success in Europe in this tournament, managing just two previous World Cup Group Stage appearances in 1994 and 2010.
GREECE KEY PLAYER
If Greece can provide Olympiakos forward Konstantinos Mitroglou with the right service, he will surely provide them with the fire-power to do well in Brazil.
The 25-year-old has scored eight goals in 28 International appearances so far - including three of the four decisive goals in the UEFA Qualifying Playoff victory over Romania.
Despite suffering an injury against Paris St Germain in the Champions League last November, Mitroglou recovered well from his setback to really blossom into an important part of Greece's attacking threat for the 2014 World Cup.
GREECE 2014 WORLD CUP BETTING TIP
With Columbia favourites to win the group, Greece face a three-way fight with Ivory Coast and Japan to reach for the Second Round.
Ivory Coast are bound to edge it and qualify out of the group, ahead of the other two - as they have the likes of Yaya Toure and Didier Drogba at their disposal. So, we're tipping Greece to fail to qualify from Group C.
