Honduras are yet to qualify out of the group after two previous World Cup appearances and the betting markets suggest they will be eliminated in the Group Stage once again in Brazil.
Facing France, Switzerland and Ecuador - who've all reached the Second Round or further in previous World Cups - in Group E, Honduras have it all to do if they are to avoid bowing out of the 2014 World Cup at the first hurdle.
HOW HONDURAS GOT TO THE 2014 WORLD CUP
Entering at the Third Round of CONCACAF Qualifying, Honduras finished top of Group C with 11 points.
An unbeaten home record in the Fourth Round paved the way for them to finish third in the table behind United States and Costa Rica, to secure the final automatic qualification spot for the 2014 World Cup ahead of Mexico.
HONDURAS MANAGER AND TRACK RECORD
Luis Fernando Suarez will mastermind Honduras' third World Cup finals appearance. The 2014 World Cup will see him come up against former employers Ecuador, who he led to their best ever finish when they reached the Second Round in 2006.
Qualifying for back-to-back tournaments for the first time, Honduras have bowed out at the Group Stage in both 1982 and 2010. However, they did cause an upset by taking a point off fellow Group E side Switzerland back in 2010, to eliminate them from the competition.
HONDURAS KEY PLAYER
Celtic paid £600,000 for left-back Emilio Izaguirre in 2010 - after his appearance at the World Cup in South Africa - and he quickly repaid that fee, by picking up four major player awards in his first season in Scottish football.
Having made his Honduras debut in 2007, the 28-year-old has since featured 65 times for his country - including World Cup appearances against Chile and Spain - and he has scored one goal.
Playing like an old fashioned wing-back, his overlapping runs, quick pace and great crossing ability will surely make him a threat for right-sided players in Brazil this summer.
HONDURAS 2014 WORLD CUP BETTING TIP
Despite a 1-1 draw with Switzerland at the 2010 World Cup giving them some hope of another upset this time round, Honduras have a very slim chance of qualifying out of the group.
With France and Switzerland likely to be the occupiers of the top two spots in Group E of the 2014 World Cup, Honduras will be left to play for pride against Ecuador. They're not even guaranteed to get that either, so back Honduras to finish bottom of Group E.
