Ivory Coast will look to prove their ranking of top African side, by qualifying out of the group and potentially upsetting the odds in the Second Round.
With some top-class players within their ranks, getting to the Second Round should be their minimum aim for the 2014 World Cup. However, they are definitely capable of upsetting a former winner in the last-16 and reaching the quarter-final.
HOW IVORY COAST GOT TO THE 2014 WORLD CUP
Receiving a bye to the CAF Qualifying Second Round, Ivory Coast strolled to victory in Group C - after taking 14 points from their six games.
The Elephants then beat Senegal 4-2 over two legs in the Third Round, to remain unbeaten throughout qualifying and reach their third successive World Cup finals.
IVORY COAST MANAGER AND TRACK RECORD
In his first managerial role, French international Sabri Lamouchi joined the Ivory Coast in 2012 and led them to the Quarter-finals of last year's African Cup of Nations.
Lamouchi also oversaw their qualifying for a third World Cup finals in a row, but he will be hoping for better than their Group Stage exits in both 2006 and 2010.
IVORY COAST KEY PLAYER
Comfortable attacking or defending, Yaya Toure is the complete package and the midfielder is no doubt the first name on the teamsheet for Lamouchi.
A strong challenger and quicker than he looks, Toure's defensive qualities are complimented by deft touches and a superb striking of the ball that has many forwards envious.
The Manchester City man has been in inspired form at the Etihad this season and Ivory Coast will hope he can translate that onto the International stage, once the 2014 World Cup begins.
IVORY COAST 2014 WORLD CUP BETTING TIP
Group C shouldn't present too many problems to Ivory Coast, with the game against Columbia surely deciding the order in which they both qualify out of the group.
With main challengers Ghana facing Germany and Portugal in the Group Stage, reaching the Second Round should be enough for Ivory Coast to be named the top African team of the 2014 World Cup.
