Matt can't see France slipping up against Nigeria and is confident enough to back them with a -2 handicap at best odds 15/4 with Boylesports.

France have been one of the most impressive sides in this World Cup, they made light work of beating Honduras 3-0 which is no mean feat against a very physical team. Their toughest game on paper looked to be against Switzerland, but Les Blues made a flying start to the match to lead by 3 goals at half time before going on to win 5-2. Switzerland managed to pick up a couple of consolation goals in the final 10 minutes, but France had taken their foot off the gas by that point as the job was already done. Didier Deschamps made a few changes for France's final group match against Ecuador, but don't be put off by their relaxed approach in that 0-0 draw as they'll be back to full strength to take on Nigeria.

The Super Eagles looked less than convincing when getting their tournament underway with a dull 0-0 draw against Iran before securing their first win at a World Cup since 1998 with a 1-0 win over Bosnia and Herzegovina thanks to a Peter Odemwingie goal. Nigeria upped their game somewhat when going down 3-2 to Argentina, but even a reproduction of that effort may not be enough to see them avoid defeat against the rampant French.

Karim Benzema has been inspirational for France with 3 goals and 2 assists so far and should continue to lead the line in attack. The likes of Evra, Debuchy, Varane and Valbuena should come back into the starting XI having been rested last time out, while Cabaye should reclaim his midfield spot having been suspended for the game against Ecuador. Mamadou Sakho is a doubt with a thigh injury but should be fit enough to start at the back leaving Deschamps to decide between Griezmann and Giroud to partner Benzema in attack.

Nigeria will be forced to make changes after Michel Babatunde fractured his arm in the defeat to Argentina last time out and the African side may alter their tactics to accomodate a less attack minded replacement in midfield. Godfrey Oboabona is pushing for inclusion and could replace Yobo in defence, while Victor Moses could be back in contention having missed the Argentina clash through injury.
