Matt expects Germany to dismantle Algeria and win both halves, which can be backed at best odds 21/10 with Coral.

A few eyebrows were raised when Joachim Löw opted to bring only one recognised striker to Brazil; seasoned World Cup veteran Mirolsav Klose. But Die Mannschaft have got the job done to top Group G, thanks in no small part to Thomas Muller's 4 goals so far in the tournament. Germany were in irresistible form when beating Portugal 4-0 in their opening match and showed their resilience to come from behind to earn a point in a 2-2 draw against a tenacious Ghana side. Muller then grabbed the decisive goal in a 1-0 win over USA to help Germany clinch top spot and they look like being more than a match for Algeria.

Algeria did well to make a game of it despite losing 2-1 to Belgium, while little can be read into their 4-2 triumph over a pretty average looking South Korea side. The fact that Russia used such restrictive tactics allowed the Fennec Foxes to claim the point they needed to go through in a 1-1 draw, but Germany are not likely to sit back and Algeria are ill-equipped to prevent the likes of Muller and Klose from filling their boots in Porto Algre.

Germany have the luxury of a fully fit and suspension-free squad to choose from, so Joachim Löw can field his strongest line-up. Bastian Schweinsteiger could keep his place in midfield ahead of Sami Khedira, while Mario Götze may come back to form the same front three that started Germany's first two games.

Algeria captain Madjid Bougherra was rested against Russia to prevent him picking up a suspension and should return to the starting XI at the expense of Belkalem. With no fresh injury concerns it should be the same front four that assured the Africans of progressing through the group stages, although it will be interesting to see how effective they are against a Germany side that has kept two clean sheets in the competition so far.
