Anthony Joshua Free Bets, Betting Offers and Latest Odds

2022 is set to be an important year in the career of Anthony Joshua.

The 32-year-old is on a mission to become a three-time heavyweight world champion, having lost his three belts to Oleksandr Usyk inside the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last September.

Owning a 24-2 record, Joshua is still one of the biggest draws in world boxing, selling out UK stadiums consistently in high-profile contests with Wladimir Klitschko, Joseph Parker, Alexander Povetkin and Oleksandr Usyk.

Is 2022 the year that “AJ” regains his throne?

2022 is the year of revenge for Anthony Joshua.

“AJ” suffered his second career defeat at the hands of the talented Oleksandr Usyk last September in a one-sided boxing clinic.

In losing his three heavyweight world titles, Joshua was unable to pin down the Ukrainian over the 12 championship rounds, with his movement and counters too quick and precise for the Briton.

Joshua’s decision to try and box with Usyk rather than relying on his concussive power was heavily criticised post-fight.

This fight wasn’t as easy as a few people are making out – I feel this impression is misleading despite winning via unanimous decision,” Usyk told late last year.

“The fight was excellent, Joshua is a brilliant fighter.

“When it comes to the rematch, myself and the team will buildup a strategy and prepare the training program. The thing I can say is that I’ll be preparing as hard as I can – when the time is right.”

Joshua has been looking to adapt his game by travelling around the United States talking to an array of different trainers.

Virgil Hunter, Ronnie Shields, Eddy Reynoso and Robert Garcia all welcomed a visit from the former heavyweight champion, as well as recent videos emerging of time spent with Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Due to the scale and size of the rematch with Usyk, markets are already available for betting.

Oleksandr Usyk opens up as a 4/9 favourite (Paddy Power) to repeat his feat from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, whereas Anthony Joshua can be found at 7/4 for revenge (William Hill).

What can we expect from Anthony Joshua in 2022?

In an ideal situation for Anthony Joshua, he beats Oleksandr Usyk in April and then sets up a huge heavyweight unification bout with Tyson Fury…

If only boxing was that simple.

It’s very much a case of one step at a time in the Anthony Joshua business in 2022 – at 32 the Briton doesn’t have much longer at his peak in the sport and will be guided into making the most beneficial and lucrative steps.

But in terms of the next step, it can’t be anyone but Usyk.

Joshua is a born competitor and wouldn’t be expected to walk away from a rematch with the Ukrainian, no matter how hard the challenge seems.

He can take solace in the fact that he has won a rematch before (v Andy Ruiz in 2019) and he’s now been offered the opportunity to repeat this feat – albeit against a more competent opponent.
