They were robbed, he tells you! Robbed! Arsene Wenger pointed at corruption as the main reason his side lost two consecutive games in the space of five days last week.

Ronald Koeman mocked him for being a whiny caricature after falling at Goodison Park only for Wenger to repeat the trick with a moan about losing to Man City on Sunday.

The Frenchman moaned: “It’s terrible because it didn’t look like we could lose this game. Then in the second half we come out straight away and we concede an offside goal.

“It’s not enough because after we concede another offside goal and I think it’s unacceptable to lose games like that. In the recent weeks we have been absolutely punished by wrong decisions but we can only look at ourselves. I think we dropped physically as well in the second half and maybe the equaliser gave them some courage and we dropped.”

At least Wenger isn’t entirely blaming refereeing decisions on the fate of his team. The Gunners gave two meek performances worthy of a lifetime’s worth of Arsenal Fan TV rants. The precariousness of Mesut Ozil’s status as a world class player came up again.

A video went viral showing his pathetic excuse at pressing i.e. walking around disinterestedly while the City midfield had the ball. He could be on his way out of the club but will he be dropped by Wenger for the visit of West Brom? It seems unlikely.

Given that Arsenal are at home, it’s a chance for Ozil to redeem himself with pulled-up socks and fancy flicks. For the next away game, it might be wise to bench him. The Baggies offered little resistance last Saturday when they went down to a Zlatan Ibrahimovic double.

Could they cause Arsenal problems here? Perhaps. Grab some free bets on the match and enjoy!
