The Red Devils are on a roll. At the time of writing, they’re unbeaten in 11 games in all competitions and have won four consecutive Premier League matches. Jose Mourinho’s side are really looking the business and if they keep it up, it’s only a matter of time before they start climbing the table. West Ham will be tough opponents for the Red Devils, though.
United thrashed the Hammers at Old Trafford in the League Cup in November just a few days after failing to best them in league action. Mourinho will be keen for United to amend a wobbly recent record against their upcoming opponents, having only won two of their last five meetings. It was West Ham who effectively denied United a place in the top four last season.
If that isn’t enough to pump up United then it’s hard to know what will. But Zlatan Ibrahimovic is in terrific form, performing like one of the bargains of the century. A free transfer from PSG (with a wage packet that would make your head spin), he has 12 league goals, one behind Diego Costa, the division’s top scorer. Right now, we at Free Bets feel that the Swede is simply undroppable.
Paul Pogba is also in fantastic form for United. He’s not receiving as much credit as he should because of the gigantic price tag he’s lugging around with him. Then you have Henrikh Mkhitaryan and his scorpion kick. David Moyes was right: It was offside. But morally it was onside. It will go down in history as one of the greatest offside goals ever.
West Ham predicted XI: Randolph, Ogbonna, Reid, Cresswell, Payet, Noble, Nordtveit, Kouyaté, Antonio, Carroll, Ayew
Man United predicted XI: De Gea, Valencia, Rojo, Jones, Blind, Carrick, Herrera, Pogba, Martial, Mata, Ibrahimovic
