Belgium World Cup Betting Odds & Predictions

We have a range of World Cup tips available across every team, group and game of the tournament in Qatar. Here is how we think Belgium will fare at the World Cup, and which betting odds are currently standing out to us.

Belgium has generally been cast as the bridesmaid at past World Cups. After finishing third four years ago, the Red Devils are intent on delivering upon their hype.

Roberto Martinez will be tasked with trying to steer Belgium to World Cup glory in Qatar, and they will fancy their chances of going all the way.

Belgium Odds and Betting Tips

Belgium are on the board with three points from their opening game against Canada.

That only tells half of the story though, they were disappointing, outplayed and incredibly lucky to get anything from the game. They’ve got plenty of questions to answer, and need to get better.

Belgium to win the World Cup - 16/1

Belgium have been fancied for many years, can they finally do it in Qatar?

World Cup 2022

Belgium is desperate to end its woes on the international stage. They have been the World Cup’s nearly men on a few occasions, but they are beginning to curry some favour for Qatar. Currently, they are priced at 16/1 with BetVictor to lift the World Cup.

Four years ago, Martinez’s charges finished third and it seems only a matter of time before things click. This is one of the most highly-vaunted Belgium squads in recent years, and of course, De Bruyne will need to be at his imperious best if Belgium is going to have a serious tilt at the World Cup.

We all know what Belgium is capable of, and in the last 30 years, they have come on leaps and bounds. In the past couple editions of the World Cup, they have reached at least the quarter-finals, and there will be a general consensus that the time has come for them to finally deliver something.

Advancing from Group F shouldn’t be too taxing, but it’s a case of how far they can go. Belgium is currently priced at 5/1 with bet365 to reach the World Cup final, so perhaps they may sneak under the radar and go about their business quietly.

Meanwhile, it will be fascinating to see what kind of Lukaku turns up at the World Cup. He will be fired up and desperate to prove a point. Although he’s not as prolific as the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Harry Kane, Lukaku will hope to hit a purple patch. Lukaku is currently valued at 20/1 with bet365 to clinch the Golden Boot, which is perhaps slightly on the long side given the service he should receive. Also, he should be confident of firing a few goals in the group stages against the likes of Canada and Morocco.

The Belgium squad is littered with talent all over the pitch. However, Kevin De Bruyne is certainly the main dangerman. The mercurial Manchester City attacking midfielder can thread eye-through-the-needle passes, and his vision is extraordinary. While his off-the-field movement is impressive, he was integral to City’s title success last season, and he has added goals to his game.

Similarly, Eden Hazard is a huge talent, and he shouldn’t be overlooked. Although his Real Madrid career has been largely marked by injuries, the 31-year-old, when on top of his game, possesses plenty of flair and he loves to take players on. Martinez should be able to extract the best out of him at the World Cup providing he’s fully fit.

While he failed to make an impression at Chelsea last season, Romelu Lukaku will be key for the Red Devils. Having netted five times during the World Cup qualification process, Lukaku is a bit of a battering ram as you can pump balls up to him. He thrives on playing the last shoulder of defenders and turning them inside out. Lukaku relies on his brute strength as well as fearsome pace, and he could be a huge threat if he has the bit between his teeth.

Verdict: How Far will Belgium Go at 2022 World Cup?

Qualification for the 2022 World Cup was plain sailing for Belgium, but few would argue that they haven’t had their chances down the years to lift their maiden title.

Belgium has ultimately come up short on quite a few occasions and it has been rather bemusing to say the least. If they can come flying out of the traps from the first group game, then they could lay down a marker and make some serious inroads.

They won’t be short on support, and the 5/1 odds offered by bet365 for Belgium to reach the World Cup final seem fair on reflection, but they could well be pipped.
