The Venetian Macao: The World’s Biggest Casino

The Venetian Macao was officially opened by its owners, the Las Vegas Sands, on 28th August 2007. Located amongst the seven hotels on the Cotai Strip in Macau, the $2.4 billion luxury hotel and casino resort is modelled on its sister casino resort the Venetian Las Vegas. The design, coordination and implementation elements of this impressive building project were led by architects Aedas and HKS, Inc. joint venture.

It is not only the world’s largest casino but, at thirty nine stories and 10,500,000 square feet (980,000 m2), it also currently has the largest single structure hotel in Asia and the seventh largest floor area of any building in the entire world. Having made room for 3000 suites and 15,000 seat Cotai Arena for large entertainment and sports events the remaining floor space is divided into 1,600,000 sq. ft. (150,000 m2) of retail space, 1,200,000 sq. ft. (110,000 m2) of convention space and 550,000 square feet (51,000 m2) of casino space.

The casino has its own entrance, lobby, reception, and the convenience of guest lifts to the rooms. For those that would like to try their luck on the slot machines there are over 3,400 to choose from. Those that prefer to try their hand on gaming tables will be spoilt for choice with an impressive 800 outlets that are spread across four distinctively themed gaming areas. These are the Golden Fish, the Imperial House, the Red Dragon and the Phoenix. There is an equally extensive choice of games. These include Blackjack, a wide range of different forms of poker, roulette, baccarat and fan tan.

For those that want to be able to experience all that the Venetian Macao has to offer; you will want to join its Paiza Club where you will be treated like a VIP. This exclusive club is designed to cater for high rollers who expect the very best from the casinos that host them. It has own private lobby, lifts, restaurants, a lounge and even offers a quintessentially English butler service.

The gambling area of the club is divided into four private and distinctively themed private rooms. Each room is named after one of the major Asian cities, namely the Yunnan, the Guangzhou, the Hong Kong, the Singapore and the Kuala Lumpur. When you consider this package in its entirety, visiting the Venetian Macao offers a viable and fulfilling alternative to online gambling.
