£27 Million Lottery Winner Hands Out Half Of Fortune

A £27 Million Euromillions winner from Northern Ireland has already handed out half of her fortune and plans to keep just a fraction of her windfall.

Margaret Loughrey who was living on benefits of less than £60 a week before winning with Euromillions plans to give away £26million of her fortune. The 48-year-old has vowed she will not leave her home town of Strabane, Co Tyrone, but did concede that she might buy a bigger house.

Margaret, who struck gold after hitting five numbers and two Lucky Stars in December 2013 has been handing out money to help people in need saying "I know what it's like to have nothing. That's why I'm giving it away – I can't miss what I never had.

"I spent half of my adult life unemployed and the other half on the minimum wage so I know only too well how hard things can be."

She is now the director of nine companies set up since May and has donated vast sums of money to benefit her hometown of Strabane. The lucky lady also has plans to transform the area into a major leisure and tourism site which will create jobs for the communtiy and boost the local economy.
