Peter Scudamore starts the Inside Angle’s discussion about the Topham Chase by saying that it is “special” riding over the Grand National fences in this important race even if you are well aware that it’s not the big race the following day.

“When you’re walking out of the paddock you think ‘I don’t want to get hurt in this and miss the National'”, said Scu before suggesting that Court Master (25/1 with Betfair) and Modus (14/1 with Ladbrokes) can go well in this year’s renewal.

Paul Ferguson agreed with Ed Quigley’s ante-post selection for this race, Caribean Boy, but he does look a little short now right at the head of the market so Paul’s value choice is Dunvegan (16/1 with BetVictor) who will have a chance providing his jumping holds up.
