It’s a massive day of racing at the Curragh on Sunday, with four Group 1 contests on the card, including the Irish St Leger.
However, the Flying Five Stakes and the National Stakes have caught our eye, with each race featuring a runner with a 100% win record at the Curragh.
2.55pm Curragh - Art Power
The Tim Easterby-trained Art Power is undefeated at the Curragh, winning on all four occasions he’s raced here with two victories in Group 3 company and two in Group 2.
Sunday sees him in Group 1 action in the Flying Five Stakes, and he’s a horse that deserves the utmost respect at this track.
Stretched by the trip last time out in France, Art Power looks up against it, taking on the high-class Highfield Princess, but if she disappoints at all, it would be no shock to see Art Power and Oisin Murphy take advantage and keep his perfect record at the Curragh intact.
4.00pm Curragh - Bucanero Fuerte
Trained by Adrian Murray in Westmeath, Bucanero Fuerte is a perfect three from three at the Curragh and has an excellent chance of making it four in a row when he lines up in the National Stakes.
He won his Maiden here in March over 5f and has since landed the Group 2 Railway Stakes and the Group 1 Phoenix Stakes.
The step up to 7f in this race looks ideal, and he looks like a solid bet under jockey Kevin Stott for owners Amo Racing.
