Sol Campbell has been priced at 33/1 to make the England World Cup squad this summer after taking another step towards a permanent contract with Arsenal last night.
The 35-year-old, who left the Gunners in 2006, looks set to rejoin Arsene Wenger’s team after completing the first 45 minutes in an Arsenal reserve team victory at West Ham last night.
Speculation suggests that Campbell, who was last registered with Notts County before walking out of the club after just one game, is set to sign a deal at the Emirates and William Hill have made him 7/1 that he will start for the Gunners this Sunday at Bolton.
The bookie has also priced Campbell at 33/1 to be picked by Fabio Capello to be part of England’s World Cup squad in South Africa.
Other markets include a price of 6/4 on Campbell starting six or more games in the 09/10 season with Arsenal, with 13/8 on two games or less and between three and five games at 15/8.
A price of 9/2 is also quoted on Campbell scoring a Premier League goal for Arsenal this season.
