Following news that Jose Mourinho is to leave Inter Milan after winning the treble this season , betting markets suggest he has not been supported to be come the next Liverpool Manager . Rafa Benitez continues in his position as Liverpool Manager but how long will this continue give the apparent rift between him and the current Liverpool owners . Liverpool certainly are a club in crisis and it seems little positive can happen at the club until the ownership issues are resolved. Whilst Benitez is in conflict with the club hierarchy he is also relatively unpopular with many of the senior players with a number of them including Steven Gerrard to consider their position following this year's World Cup . It seems certain that Jose Mourinho will be heading for Real Madrid shortly rather than Liverpool , the salary of £10M per season being somewhat hard to refuse . The betting on who will become the next Liverpool Manager is relatively open with Martin O'Neill favourite at odds of around 7/4 with all three bookmakers betting on this event . Assuming Mourinho is out of the running , Roy Hodgson who has done a fantastic job with Fulham this season is next in the betting at an attractive 6/1 with Paddy Power . However it is rumoured that disposing of the services of Benitez would cost around what it takes to sign a world class forward so it might be wise not betting against the likelihood of Benitez still being the Liverpool Manager when the Premiership kicks off again in August .
