Bookmakers are offering free bets for 2010/11 Barclays Premier League, which gets underway on Saturday 14th August.
Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti is set to offer Wesley Sneijder a new deal to let Alex Ferguson know he is wasting his time trying to bid for the Dutch World Cup star.
It was reported last night, that Manchester United were ready to table a £30m offer to attract Sneijder to the Premier League this season.
Agent Soren Lerby said Inter were ready to offer to extend his contract for another 2 years, keeping him at the San Siro until 2015, when he returns from World Cup duty.
It’s estimated that The World Cup’s joint top goalscorer currently earns around £3.5m per year and the revised offer will take his earnings with the Champions League winners even higher.
Sir Alex Ferguson’s interest in the Dutch midfielder was confirmed when Moratti told the press: “The interest from Manchester United in Sneijder is real, but I didn’t look into it in an attempt not to fall into temptation.”
Ferguson was interested in a double swoop, also inquiring after young striker Mario Balotelli.
Inter’s Technical director Marco Branca confirmed there had been interest from both Manchester United and rivals City, saying: “There is also interest from United and City in Balotelli, but it’s very early to say if there will be any business done.”
United are determined to wrestle back the Premier League title and hold off the challenge of neighbours City. United can be backed at odds of 11/4 with Victor Chandler to win the Barclays Premier League.
