Bookmakers are offering free bets and special offers for the British Grand Prix at Silverstone on Sunday 11th July.
First practice for the Santander sponsored event starts at 10.00am on Friday morning with British drivers, Lewis Hamilton and Jensen Button hoping the upgrades to their McLaren cars will help gain pole position for Sunday’s race.
McLaren and Williams will use practise to test the low exhaust configuration developed by Red Bull. Ferrari, Mercedes and Renault introduced their versions of the blown diffuser in Valencia two weeks ago.
Totesport are running a special offer for this years Grand Prix, refunding losing stakes if Hamilton wins the Silverstone race from pole position.
Hamilton started the grid from pole position in Canada last month and went on to win the race. Sportingbet are offering odds of 13/4 for Hamilton to grab pole at Saturday afternoon qualifying.
Last year’s Silverstone winner Sebastian Vettel came good in the Red Bull car on Valencia’s street circuit and his car is expected to be fast again at this year’s British Grand Prix.
Totesport make Vettel favourite at 2/1 while team mate Mark Webber is 9/2. Webber is recovered from his back flip in Valencia and will be using Vettel’s old chassis in place of the one he damaged in Spain.
Speaking of Red Bull’s chances against his McLaren, Button said: “People think they are very competitive at circuits such as Silverstone, “They’ve sorted their mechanical grip and their blown diffuser works very well, but I don’t think they will make a big step forward here.”
Button is 8/1 with Boylesports and Victor Chandler to win his coveted first British Grand Prix.
