Bookmakers are offering free bets to new customers as Le Tour set off on its sixth stage from Montargis to Gueugnon this afternoon. Mark Cavendish felt he had let his team down in the first five stages, but true to his word he gave it 100% yesterday and sprinted to a clear victory in Montargis. The 25-year-old’s brilliant win was his eleventh in three Tours and he is best priced at 6/4 with Betfred to win the sixth stage today. Points Classificatiion leader, Thor Hushovd finished in fifth place and retains a 52 point lead over Cavendish going to the next stage. Cavendish was in tears at the presentation ceremony and speaking on Eurosport he said: "It means everything. Obviously it's been hard this year and things hadn't really gone our way the first few days. I felt like I let the team down massively yesterday [when 12th on stage four] but they rode incredibly for me again today. "I just sat there and when I knew we were in the right place I went for it. It's an incredible feeling, especially after all the emotion and pressure which has built up." Le Tour leader Fabian Cancellara and Le Tour favourite Alberto Contador both finished in the main pack to register the same time as Cavendish to leave the General Standing largely unchanged. Welshman, Geraint Thomas finished in the pack in 23rd place to retain the white jersey for leading Young Rider and his second place in the General Standings.
