Chelsea left back Ashley Cole could be set for a reunion with former manager Jose Mourinho, with odds on Cole making a switch to Real Madrid cut to just 1/4 by Skybet,
Cole, who is no stranger to controversy and big-money transfers, is reportedly looking to get away from the media intrusion caused by his split from Cheryl Tweedy with the Bernabeu looking an increasing likely destination.
The price has shortened from 6/4 last month and increased tabloid speculation over the England international’s future at Stamford Bridge, who was one of the few England players to leave the World Cup with his reputation intact, has seen punters continue to predict Madrid as his new home come the start of the season.
Barcelona is priced at 16/1 to be his new home whilst Mourinho’s former club Inter Milan are 20/1 to make Cole their big summer signing.
"If the money is correct then Cole will be joining Real Madrid,” claimed Skybet’s Tim Reynolds. “We've only laid Madrid in the market so we're hoping that the England international will stay loyal to Chelsea."
Liverpool are thought to be the most likely destination should Cole decide to stay in England, with Liverpool at 33/1. Manchester United and their “noisy neighbours”, City, are both at 66/1 to have Cole on their pay-roll come the start of the season.
