Bookmakers are offering free bets to new customers on Stage 14 of Le Tour de France from Revel to Ax 3 Domaines.
Alberto Contador and Andy Schleck will lock horns again today on the slopes of the Pyrenees in the first of four mountain stages that will decide the Tour.
Today’s 14th Stage takes le Tour to the ski resort of Ax 3 Domaines with the gruelling ascent to Port de Pailheres quickly followed by the 8km Category 1 climb to the finish.
Schleck has climbed aggressively through the Alps to maintain a 31 second advantage over the race favourite, but this is Contador’s territory and he could soon wrest the yellow jersey from the young Luxembourgian.
Bookmakers make the Spanish rider favourite to win this stage with betting odds of 6/4 on offer with Stan James.
"Alberto is going to be strong, for sure," Schleck said yesterday. "I saw him this morning and he told me, 'Let's stay quiet today and we'll battle tomorrow.'
"I'm a little bit nervous because tomorrow is the first stage in the Pyrenees and the Tour enters its decisive week."
He was speaking after Contador’s team mate Alexandre Vinokourov had won the transitional stage to Revel. The Kazakh veteran had gone agonizingly close to winning Friday’s stage and blasted away on the final short climb to an emotional victory.
Vinokourov’s first stage win since returning from a two year doping ban meant Mark Cavendish had to settle for second place when leading home the chase group.
Cavendish picked up 30 points in his fight with Thor Hushovd and Alessandro Petacchi for the green jersey, his sprint rivals finishing 8th and 3rd respectively.
