Bookmakers are offering free bets for Fulham’s 2010/11 Barclays Premier league campaign which took a knock with today’s news from Holland. It has just been revealed that Fulham’s managerial target Martin Jol has agreed to stay at Ajax. Seemingly Jol has come to an agreement with Ajax bosses to stay on at the club despite talk that he was prepared to quit in favour of a return to London. The former Spurs boss was said to be concerned about the possible departure of some of his star players and confidence was high in West London that he would ditch Ajax and replace Roy Hodgson. But, when speaking to De Telegraf, Jol said: “They were interested but in principle I will stay at Ajax.” This leaves Fulham continuing their search for a manager in time for the start of the Premier League season on 14 August. Names being linked with the position include Sven Goran Eriksson who is available after his stint at the World Cup with Ivory Coast, current Cardiff boss Dave Jones and Gianfranco Zola who is unemployed following his unsuccessful spell at West Ham. Pundits feel that Fulham over achieved under Hodgson last season and without a top class appointment could struggle this time around. Bookmakers believe there is a chance they could become involved in a relegation battle, with Coral as low as 6/1. Victor Chandler aren’t so down on the club’s chances and are offering 9/1 Fulham to be relegated.
