Bookmakers are offering free bets for Manchester United in their 2010/11 bid to reclaim the Barclays Premier League title. Online bookmaker Sky Bet have cut the price of Mesut Ozil from 4/1 down to 3/1 to join Manchester United after seeing money today on the young German World Cup star moving to Old Trafford. The 21-year-old had an outstanding World Cup with Germany; his club Werder Bremen have been bracing themselves for offers from Europe’s top clubs since his eye-catching performances in South Africa. The youngster has one more season left on his contract and has indicated he is happy to see it out if required. His comments sparking rumours that Barcelona have offered him a deal to allow him to stay until next year. But speculation is rife that Manchester United, Real Madrid and Arsenal are also weighing up bids and the club’s general manager Klaus Allofs admitted at the weekend he may have little option but to cash in his star player now. The club have been unable to progress their offer of a new contract, leaving Allofs to say: “If something concrete comes, we have a duty to talk to Mesut and his advisors and see what they want. We will not change our policy. We cannot afford it.” Manchester United’s betting odds for the Barclays Premier League title have been unaffected, Victor Chandler offer 11/4 for the Red Devils regain the crown they lost to rivals Chelsea last season.
