Tomorrow sees the start of Glorious Goodwood, which features three Group races on a card that is both competitive and full of quality. The Group 3 Gordon Stakes is due off at 2.45 and the result is bound to shake up the St Leger ante-post market. In recent years both Sixties Icon ( 2006 ) and Conduit ( 2008 ) were successful in the 1m 4f contest before going on to Doncaster glory, and the majority of tomorrows field hold an entry for the final Classic of the season. Dandino ( 14/1 with Bet365 for the St Leger ) is unbeaten in four runs this season but takes on Group company for the first time. Arctic Cosmos is a general 20/1 shot for Doncaster after the colt's highly impressive second in the King Edward VII Stakes at Royal Ascot, the same price as Corsica who was a little disappointing in the Queen's Vase, but the recent winner of a Newmarket Group 3 contest. Theology, a nose second in the Queen's Vase, is 16/1 for Classic glory and will be ridden tomorrow by the championship leader, Paul Hanagan. Rebel Soldier, Fencing Master, Dubawi Phantom, and Very Good Day are others that are out to enhance their prospects for the big one on Saturday 11th September. Most valuable race on the card is £155,000 Group 2 Betfair Cup ( Lennox Stakes ) in which Finjaan is the 9/2 favourite with William Hill to follow up last years victory. In a wide open contest the value could lie with the Henry Cecil trained Lord Shanakill, who ran well from a poor draw in Royal Ascot's Golden Jubilee Stakes, and an 8/1 chance. The final Group contest of the day is the Betfair Molecomb Stakes at 4.00 pm and the juvenile event looks like going the way of the powerful Richard Hannon stable with Zebedee. A close fifth in Royal Ascot's Norfolk Stakes, the Invincible Spirit colt impressed at Sandown recently, and can reverse form with Norfolk fourth Stone Of Folca, on a course that looks sure to suit.
