Online bookmakers are offering free bets on Martin O’Neill’s replacement as Aston Villa manager with bookies opening up betting on the Next Aston Villa Manager.
Bob Bradley has been installed as favourite to replace Martin O’Neill who stepped down as Villa manager yesterday; Stan James is offering odds of 4/1 he will be appointed next Villa manager.
Villa’s American owner Randy Lerner is searching for a replacement for O’Neill and the USA national coach is believed to be a possible for the position.
Bradley emerged as a leading contender when he confirmed he is keen to coach in Europe as he prepares his USA team for a friendly against Brazil.
His contract with USA expires at the end of this year and he is considering options, he said: “I have said over and over as well that I am always excited about new and different challenges," said Bradley.
"Certainly coaching in Europe at some point is something that I would love to do.”
The American was considered a possibility for the recent Fulham vacancy, but claims he did not enter negotiations with Villa's Premier League rivals.
He added: "People spoke to Fulham on my behalf. I did not actually speak to anyone at Fulham."
