Online bookmakers are offering free bets to new customers for the 2010/11 Carling Cup with second round ties being played this week. Mark Hughes has made his second signing as Fulham manager following the capture of Algeria international defender Rafik Halliche. The 23-year-old has signed a three-year contract with the club after joining from Portuguese side Benfica for an undisclosed fee. Halliche is the club's fourth signing since the end of last season following the arrivals of Philippe Senderos, Jonathan Greening and Moussa Dembele. The Algerian defender played all of his football in Portugal while on loan to Nacional and he is relishing the prospect of playing in what he describes as the best league in the world. On the club’s official website he said: "I'm so happy that my transfer to Fulham has been finalised, for me the Premier League is the best league in the world. "To be able to play alongside some wonderful players and to be given an opportunity to compete against some fantastic teams for a team like Fulham is something that I've always dreamed of doing." Halliche has 20 caps for his country and has been linked with a move to Arsenal earlier in the summer. His signing comes as another boost for Fulham after their battling come backs against title contenders Manchester United in Sunday’s 2-2 draw. Fulham entertain Port Vale in the Carling Cup second round at Carven Cottage on Wednesday night; Ladbrokes are offering odds of 4/9 for Hughes’ side to brush aside the Npower league 2 side in normal time.
