20 Horses have been left in Saturday's Betfred Sprint Cup at Haydock in which Richard Hannon's star mile Paco Boy has been introduced into the betting at 7/2. A tremendous race is in prospect this Saturday for Haydock's Betfred Sprint Cup after 20 horses stood their ground at the latest forfeit stage. While Fleeting Spirit was a surprise absentee for the 6f Group 1 contest, the inclusion of top class miler Paco Boy was not expected. This season's Lockinge Stakes winner has not raced over Saturday's trip since a creditable fourth in last year's July Cup at Newmarket, a fact that does not seem to worry connections of the 5 year-old. Assistant trainer Richard Hannon jnr said: " He ran very well in the July Cup last year and the owners are keen for him to take his chance. The ground will be to his liking and he's in good nick at home." Paco Boy has been introduced into the betting at 7/2 with most firms but can be backed at a standout 4/1 with Paddy Power, who are offering £50 in free bets to new customers. Hannon issued a word of caution however, stating that the horse would also be entered for Longchamp's Prix Du Moulin. Favourite for the Sprint Cup is the Aidan O'Brien trained Starspangledbanner, runner-up behind 100/1 shot Sole Power in York's Nunthorpe Stakes. O'Brien has several options for the 4 year-old however, Saturday's contest being just one of them. With that in mind a best price of 9/4 makes little appeal at this stage, whereas Paddy Power's 7/2 about last year's winner Regal Parade is sure to be popular as, barring accidents, the Nicholls' horse is certain to be in the line-up. Top sprinters Equiano and Kingsgate Native are also intended runners but both will need to improve markedly on Nunthorpe running to play a part this weekend.
