New Aston Villa manager Gerard Houllier has yet to convince bookmakers that Aston Villa can repeat last season's effort and finish in the top six again this season .
Aston Villa finished last season one point ahead of Houllier's old club Liverpool and the 63 year old Frenchman will be determined to finish ahead of his old club again .
Aston Villa have had a mixed start to the current Premier League season . They were embarrasing in a six goal thrashing at Newcastle but have won both of their home games so far .
Houllier will take charge of Villa for the first time in Monday's Barclays Premier League clash at Stoke and said today :
"I could not turn down the opportunity to manage a club whose approach, both on and off the pitch, I have long admired.
Aston Villa is one of England's biggest clubs and has an amazing set of fans."
Whilst at Liverpool Houllier led them to a Cup treble in 2001 winning the UEFA , Carling and FA Cup .
With Villa already out of Europe this season , Houllier can focus attention on Premier League performance and Victor Chandler are taking a risk in offering the Villans at 3/1 to finish Top 6 .
