Bookmakers are convinced that Rafael Nadal is about to become only the seventh man to win all four Grand Slam tennis tournaments when he takes on Novak Djokovic in the US Open final tonight .
Nadal has been in superb form in reaching his first ever US Open final and is a top price of 4/11 with Sportingbet to beat Djokovic who survived two match points before beating Roger Federer in a five set epic on Saturday evening . Nadal is fully aware of the significance of the match for how his career will be viewed .
"The result of this match will change a lot," said Nadal. "It's another step in my career. It's a very important match for me." Nadal has not dropped a set so far at the US Open and will go into the game much fresher than Djokovic .
The 24 year old spaniard has already won the French Open and Wimbledon titles this season and is seeking the ninth grand Slam title of his career .
Djokovic must overcome the disadvantage of having only completed his semi final in the early hours of Sunday morning but will take encouragement from his recent record against Nadal who he has beaten in their last three matches .
Djokovic said "On hard court I do have my best chances against Rafa but he's still number one in the world and the one that's playing great tennis ."
Victor Chandler offer top price on Djokovic at 11/4 but Nadal should prove the stronger and become the first player since Rod Laver in 1969 to win the French Open, Wimbledon and the US Open titles in the same year.
