Ronnie O’Sullivan must overcome the consistent Mark King in the final 64 qualifying match to set up a thrilling last 32 encounter with Jimmy White. Online bookmakers are offering free bets to customers who sign up for a new account; they can be redeemed on the sponsored 2010 Snooker World Open at the SECC Glasgow until the final on Sunday 26 September. World number three, O’Sullivan comes into the event on the back of a 3-3 draw against Ding Junhui in the Premier League round robin match at Plymouth Pavilion last Thursday. Having withdrawn from the Shanghai Masters, O’Sullivan looked a little rusty in a scrappy match and must be sharper for his best of five frame encounter with the ‘Romford Battler’. King, ranked 15 in the world, has an admirable head to head record over O’Sullivan having won six times in eleven meetings and showed good form to reach the quarter-finals in Shanghai. He beat Joe Delaney (5-3) and Peter Ebdon (5-3) before going out to Mark Selby when comfortable beaten 5-1. O’Sullivan is available at odds of 4/11 with Victor Chandler to win the match while King can be backed at 5/2 with Boylesports. In today’s second match Matthew Stevens takes on Alan McManus in the first match in the round of the final 32. Stevens was agonisingly eliminated from the Shanghai Masters when letting slip a 4-1 lead to Ali Carter in the quarter-finals. Former World Championship semi-finalist McManus has been in the doldrums in recent times and fell five places to 46 in the World Rankings last year. Totesport make Stevens 8/15 favourite for this match and Ladbrokes go 7/4 for McManus. Liu Song and Joe Jogia wrap up the afternoon session in a match that is difficult to call, bookmakers just favour Lui Song who is 4/5 with Stan James and Jogia can be backed at 6/5 with Boylesports. WORLD SNOOKER DAY THREE SCHEDULE, MON 20 SEP: 12:30 Ronnie O’Sullivan v Mark King 13:45 Matthew Stevens v Alan McManus 15:00 Liu Song v Joe Jogia 19:00 Jamie Cope v Dave Harold 20:15 Marcus Campbell v Mike Dunn
