A select group of 30 players are competing in this weekend's Tour Championship from East Lake , Atlanta with $10M up for grabs in FedEx prizemoney.
Phil Mickelson is defending the Tour Championship title he won here last year and could still win the FedEX Cup but he is now reliant on the performances of other players . Mickelson admitted this week that , "If I had played halfway decent, I would be in a position to control my own destiny. I started out third or fourth, started out in good position, but because of my play, I am where I'm at."
A win or or a three-way tie for second would also enable Mickelson to overtake Tiger Woods as the No. 1 player in the world for the first time in his career.
