The Tingle Creek Chase which is due to be held at Sandown on Saturday is under severe threat from the big freeze with temperatures forecast to be freezing all week and a risk of snow today and Thursday. The two mile Tingle Creek is one of the big races of the season and was moved to Cheltenham in similar circumstances ten years ago . The field for this year's race is expected to include the brilliant Master Minded, two-time winner of the Queen Mother Champion Chase at the Festival and winner of the Tingle Creek in 2008 and Twist Magic also trained by Paul Nicholls who won the Tingle Creek in 2007 and 2009 . Cheltenham Racecourse Managing Director Edward Gillespie is considering whether the race could be added to the International Meeting At Cheltenham the following week and said :"We could quite possibly accumulate the Tingle Creek, which is what has happened before. We'll have to see what happens at Sandown, but if the Tingle Creek were to come here it would be a further boost to a good card that we'll have anyway." Talks over a possible alternative venue for the Tingle Creek if the weather does not improve will get under way this week, with the racing authorities keen to save top races. Bookmakers have already started betting on the race with Master Minded the even money favourite with Irish bookmaker Boylesports .
