England's cricketers are finding Australia more difficult opponents in the one day version of the game than the five day and slumped to a second succesive defeat earlier today in Hobart .
After restricting Australia to 230 all out , England struggled from the beginning of their innings and were eventually beaten by 46 runs after managing to be all out inside 45 overs for only 184 runs .
Doug Bollinger inflicted most of the damage for the Aussies and after trapping Andrew Strauss and Kevin Pietersen in succesive balls went on to claim four for 28 .
With England now 2-0 down in the seven game series captain Andrew Strauss has admitted that England have to improve .
The Ashes-winning captain told Sky Sports: "We will have to regroup pretty quickly for Sydney. We were probably a seamer short to be honest. We have to look at what we did wrong today.
Australia are the top ranked one day cricket team in the world currently and England will have to improve to avoid an embarrasing defeat in this series which comes just before the Cricket World Cup in February .
Bookmaker William Hill make Australia odds on at 1/5 to win the current ODI series and offer only 14/1 that Australia whitewash England with a 7-0 series win . Hill's spokesman Rupert Adams commented "The main focus was the Ashes and England seem to have lost some of their focus. It would not be that surprising if England get whitewashed."
The third ODI takes place on Sunday 23rd January at the Sydney cricket ground and the pressure is already mounting on England .
